The Zillertal offers a wealth of possibilities for winter sports enthusiasts. The varied ski areas have wide and easy descents, but also challenging steep slopes and ski routes. The Zillertal consists of a total of four beautiful ski areas:

• The Mayrhofen area offers excellent ski / snowboard possibilities, but is also known for its lively après ski. Together with the neighboring area Finkenberg, they form the Zillertal 3000 ski area.
• The largest family ski area is the Zillertal Arena. You'll find no less than 140 kilometers of piste, with more than enough skiing possibilities for every level!
• The Hintertux Glacier is the only ski area in Austria that is open 365 days a year, you can ski here in both winter and summer.
• Finally, the Hochzillertal is on the rise. A new gondola was added in the winter of 2018/2019 and you can now also enjoy it here in the mountain restaurant with panoramic terrace!

All ski areas are accessible with the super ski pass, with which you can also use the ski buses for free. 

Snowshoe hikes in the Zillertal

Also for people who do not like winter sports, but who love the outdoors and the beautiful nature in winter, you can go to the Zillertal. Bars and restaurants in the Zillertal valley

For conviviality and plenty of atmosphere with mulled wine or jägertee by the fire, the Zillertal offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. If you want to seek the company of other holiday makers or local guests, you can walk into any bar within the Zillertal and you are guaranteed a pleasant evening!

Do you want a bite to eat? Choose a truly local dish, such as schweinsbraten, Wienerschnitzel, cheese fondue or kaiserschmarrn! You can enjoy a nutritious meal in almost every restaurant on the slopes, but you can also enjoy a meal in one of the local restaurants in the evenings. Please note that booking in advance can sometimes be useful, especially if you are going to eat with a large group.
