Summer Program

Zillertal-reisen.com

Throughout the summer, we organize walks through the nature park "Zillertal Alps" and the surroundings of Mayrhofen. The walks are accompanied by a certified mountain guide (Dutch, German and English-speaking). In addition, you can indicate in advance what your level is, so that we can take this into account.

Hike in Mayrhofen

Every Tuesday, from 11 June to 1 October 2019.

We start the walk at the cash desk of the Ahornbahn. We walk through Mayrhofen towards the Stillupklamm. This beautifully beautiful gorge is unknown to many, but definitely worth a visit. The stream that flows through it branches off into various waterfalls and smaller streams. Via the gorge we rise towards the Gasthof Wiesenhof. Here you can enjoy a great view of Mayrhofen and a large part of the Zillertal, if it is not cloudy! After this we descend towards the Zillergrund. Via a detour, which is certainly worthwhile, we walk towards the village of Brandberg, then end up on the other side of Mayrhofen.

Additional information:

Start: 9 a.m. at the Ahornbahn ticket office
Duration: about 6 hours (including breaks 7 hours)
Difficulty: light
Suitable for children: yes, please consult

Hike Gipfeltour Wanglspitz (2420m) & Rastkogel (2762m)

Every Wednesday, from 12 June to 2 October 2019.

We start the walk at the parking lot of the Finkenberger Almbahnen, to which you travel on your own. From here we take the cable car to the Penkenjoch at 2095m. From the Penkenjoch we climb to the first summit of the day: The Wanglspitz. This summit offers a spectacular view of the Penkenjoch and you also overlook the different side valleys of Mayrhofen. With a bit of luck we catch a glimpse of the Hintertux Glacier in clear weather.

We continue our journey towards the Grindlscharte. This is a wide ridge, where it looks like you're walking on the moon! From here you not only look out over the Zillertal, but also the Karwendel Mountains are coming into view more and more. After a further climb, we are on top of the more than 2700m high Rastkogel. The view from this top is truly breathtaking. You can look around 360 degrees over mountain ridges and peaks. The view extends from Innsbruck to Worgl and from the high mountains of the Zillertal to the Hohe Tauern.

After this literal high point, a descent towards the Rastkogel hut takes place. From here you look at the Hochzillertal and Hochfügen. Via the mountain hut, we continue the descent towards the municipality of Mösl. Here we can recover from all the wonderful impressions and enjoy a glass of soda or a golden-yellow rascal of our own choice. From here we take the bus and together we drive back to the valley.

Additional information:

Start: 8.30 am in the parking lot of the Finkenberger Almbahnen (based on your own transport)
Duration: approximately 8 hours, including breaks
Difficulty: medium / heavy
Extra costs: cable car ticket and bus trip from Schwendberg to Mayrhofen
Suitable for children: from 17 years, always in consultation
