Snowshoe Hike
During the winter season we organize snowshoe hikes from Zillertal-reisen.com through the beautiful nature reserve in the Zillertal. The snowshoe hikes take place under the guidance of a certified mountain guide (Dutch, German and English speaking). When booking a snowshoe hike you can indicate your level, so that we can take this into account.
Walking with snowshoes is at least twice as hard as taking a normal walk. Walking in the snow already costs more energy, but we also go (slightly) uphill and downhill. A good basic condition is therefore required. The average ascent during a snowshoe hike is around 400 vertical meters.
With our snowshoe hikes you are on the road for +/- 5 hours.
Also consider the following:
- Do not dress too warmly, but work with layers, so that you can always take something off during exercise and put on clothes when it gets colder.
- Take enough drinks with you, in extreme cold bottles of water or a camel bag can freeze.
- Bring a well-insulated canteen with hot water or tea.
- Take enough food with you, including a bar of chocolate or candy bar for on the go.
- Put on waterproof and sturdy shoes. If you are in possession of gaiters be sure to take it with you.
- Do not forget to bring your camera / camera to capture the experiences of the day!
